Donation Form Templates
Fillin Forge has three donation templates, in three different categories, and no category of donation templates. None of them has a payment field: without one, the form only collects the donor’s answers.
Donation templates
Donation Form
Orders & Payments. Donor Name, Email, Donation Amount ($10, $25, $50 or $100), Frequency (One-time, Monthly or Annual), In honor/memory of (optional) and Message.
Nonprofit Donation
Nonprofit. Name, Email, Amount ($25, $50, $100 or $250), Frequency (One-time or Monthly), Tax Receipt? (Yes or No) and In honor/memory of.
Tithe / Offering
Church & Ministry. Name, Email, Type (Tithe, Offering, Missions or Building Fund), Amount ($) (a number field) and Frequency (One-time, Weekly or Monthly).
Taking the payment
Add the Payment (Stripe) field (Pro) to the form yourself. Its amount is a Fixed amount or Dynamic (linked to Calculation); for an amount the donor types, add a number field and a Calculation field that uses it, and link the payment to that Calculation field. Enter your Stripe keys in the Stripe Payments card of Settings: payments go directly to your Stripe account.
- Each submission creates one Stripe payment. The Frequency question of the templates is only an answer: nothing charges the donor again, and there are no subscriptions.
- The server refuses a payment below 0.50 or above 1,000.00 in a currency with hundredths such as USD, and below 50 or above 100,000 in JPY, the only currency in the Currency list of the Payment (Stripe) field that has no hundredths.
What is not there
Fillin Forge generates no receipts and no tax receipts, has no donor portal, and shows no campaign total or progress bar on a form. The Nonprofit Donation template only asks Tax Receipt? (Yes or No), and you act on the answer yourself.
Donor data in a CRM or a mailing list (Pro)
The HubSpot CRM card of the form builder (Send lead to HubSpot on submission) sends the first email address of the submission to HubSpot and, with Also create a Deal, a deal named after the form and the submission number. The Mailchimp card subscribes the email address to a list. Fillin Forge has no Salesforce integration.
Compared to dedicated donation plugins
Dedicated donation plugins (GiveWP, Charitable, etc.) offer more fundraising-specific features: fee coverage options, peer-to-peer fundraising, donor profiles, reporting. Fillin Forge’s donation templates are for:
- Small nonprofits running simple donation forms
- Campaigns that are one-offs, not ongoing programs
- Organizations that already have another donor management system
- Sites that want donation alongside other forms on Fillin Forge
For a full fundraising platform, use a dedicated plugin. A template gives you a donation form to adapt.
Ready to accept donations?
The three donation templates are in the Free plugin. The Payment (Stripe) field, the HubSpot CRM card and the Mailchimp card are Pro features.
