Newsletter Signup Templates
Fillin Forge has one newsletter template, Newsletter Signup (category Marketing), and no category of newsletter templates. It has two fields: Email Address (required, with the placeholder “Enter your email”) and a required checkbox, I agree to receive newsletters. Content Download (Marketing) is a similar form for a download: Name, Work Email, Company, Job Title and a required checkbox, I agree to receive related content. Both are in the Free plugin.
Mailchimp (Pro)
- Connect once: in Fillin Forge > Settings, paste your Mailchimp API key into API Key in the Mailchimp card and click Connect. The key is stored on the Avakode server, not in your WordPress database.
- Per form: in the Mailchimp card of the form builder, switch on Subscribe to Mailchimp list on submission and enter the List ID. Each form has its own List ID, so different forms can feed different audiences.
- The address comes from the field you choose in Email Field; with Auto-detect email field it is the first Email field that has a value.
On submit the address is sent to Mailchimp. A new address is added as subscribed at once; an address that is already on the list is not added twice and keeps the status it has. Only the email address is sent: the name and the other answers are not passed on. There is no double opt-in setting, and the card has no tags.
Consent and placement
The consent checkbox of both templates is required and starts unticked, so the visitor has to tick it. The templates have no privacy policy link and no unsubscribe wording. Put a form on a page or a post with its shortcode, Form not found.
