How Fillin Forge Works, Step by Step
This page is a written walk-through of Fillin Forge, in the order you meet its screens in the WordPress admin. Steps marked Pro need the separate Fillin Forge Pro add-on; everything else is in the free plugin.
1. Start a new form
Install and activate Fillin Forge, open Fillin Forge → Forms and press New Form. Start from scratch, or pick a ready-made template under Or start from a template; the templates are grouped by category. (Pro) With the Pro add-on you can also describe the form in plain words and let AI build it.
2. Add and arrange fields
Drag fields from the palette into the form area, or click a field to add it. The free plugin has core field types such as text, email, number, select, checkbox, radio and file upload, plus conditional logic and an address field with a map.
3. Set up notifications
In Form Settings, open Email Notifications. Switch on Notify admin on submission and enter the address that should receive the message. The free plugin also sends an autoresponder to the person who filled in the form.
4. Save and embed it
Press Save Form. The builder shows the form’s shortcode, [formforge id="X"] with your form’s number, and a button to copy it. Paste it into a page, a post or a widget.
5. Read the submissions
Open Fillin Forge → Submissions to see what people sent. Open an entry to see its Submission Details, and use Export CSV to take the data into a spreadsheet.
6. Add more with Pro
The separate Fillin Forge Pro add-on adds multi-step forms with a progress bar, a conversational mode that asks one question at a time, Stripe payments, Mailchimp, HubSpot and Google Sheets integrations, notifications to Telegram, WhatsApp, Slack and Discord, Google Calendar availability, and submission analytics with abandonment recovery.
