What happens when a visitor submits a form, in the order the code runs it.

  1. Request checks. The nonce and the anti-spam checks (see Anti-Spam System). The rate limit is fixed: 10 submissions per 60 seconds per IP address.
  2. Validation. Every field is validated and sanitized on the server. Fields hidden by conditional logic are skipped and not saved.
  3. Save. The submission is stored in the formforge_submissions table.
  4. Analytics (Pro). The submission is counted when the add-on is active.
  5. Notifications. The email to the admin, and the auto-reply if it is on.
  6. Webhooks. Generic webhooks, available in the Free plugin.
  7. Integrations (Pro). Slack, Discord, Telegram, WhatsApp, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Google Sheets and Google Calendar.
  8. Actions. formforge/process_submission, then formforge/submission_created.
  9. Response. A JSON answer with the success message or the redirect URL, which the form script shows.
